We were successful on our second attempt to visit Cades Cove in early August 2012. Due to the extremely slow traffic on the south side of the loop, we chose to cut back across the cove on Hyatt Lane and exit the cove via the gravel Rich Mountain Road. Below are some views from both the cove and the mountain.
