Upper Rogue River and Gorge - National Wild and Scenic River

Leaving Crater Lake National Park, we headed west on Oregon 62.  When we reached the Rogue River, we turned upstream on Oregon 230 to drive along the river for a few scenic miles.  A small white water section of the river was visible from a roadside pulloff about 8 ¾ miles north of the junction.

Leaving the rapids, we retraced our route back to Oregon 62 and continued about one mile to the Rogue River Gorge at Farewell Bend above Union Creek.  While we didn't have time to explore the area thoroughly, it did have a large paved parking lot, vault toilets and a wheelchair accessible paved trail to and along the gorge.
