Winter along Songbird Trail - TVA Norris Dam

The Songbird Trail is a two mile loop from just below Norris Dam to Clear Creek.  A steel foot bridge crosses Clear Creek near its mouth to provide access to the southern parking area.  We walked the trail in late January 2014.  Our earlier visit in early July 2013 is documented here.  While walking along the snowy path, we found Clear Creek to be mostly frozen over with snow on the ice.  We also walked south beyond the trail to get a closer view of a frozen cascade and of the weir dam at Hibbs Island.
