Tennessee's 56th state park and first birding park opened in September 2013. The park contains over 400 acres along a bend in the French Broad River. Directional signs lead visitors from Interstate 40 exit 402 to the gravel parking area. There are over eight miles of mowed trails in the park for hiking as well as a 1.2 mile paved greenway for hiking and biking. A small boat launch is also part of the park. There are no facilities at this park. Our visit in August 2014 was cut short by a thunderstorm.

The park is open from dawn to dusk and admission is free.
