Park Road from Painted Desert Inn to Historic Route 66 - Petrified Forest National Park


We visited Petrified Forest National Park in May, 2015. The 28 mile park road bisects the park from north to south. There are numerous viewpoints along the route. All the pullouts are paved. Some have only a few parallel parking places while others have a numerous straight-in and pull-through places. The pullouts below, as well as those posted here, are all north of Interstate 40 in eastern Arizona.

An entry fee of $10 per private vehicle is good for seven consecutive days. Other fee payment options include the America the Beautiful - National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands passes including the Annual Pass ($80), Senior Pass ($10 for lifetime), Access Pass (free with documented disability) and Military Annual Pass (free for active duty personnel).
