After several days of rainfall in late November, we finally had a few days without rain in early December 2015. I took advantage of the good weather and spent some time in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in the Little River drainage area near Townsend, Tennessee. The Little River Gorge Road bridges Whiteoak Flats Branch where it flows into the Little River. This is 0.6 miles east of the Townsend Wye. A fairly large parallel parking area is on the river side of the road just downstream of the confluence.
