The Anchor Lake rest area serves both northbound and southbound travelers on US 53 south of Eleveth, Minnesota. A historical marker denotes the location as the unique spot where a drop of rainwater can flow north into Hudson Bay, east into the Great Lakes or south into the Gulf of Mexico.
While it doesn't meet the technical requirements of water flowing into three different oceans like Triple Divide Peak in Glacier National Park in Montana (if Hudson Bay is part of the Arctic Ocean) or Snow Dome at the border of Banff and Jasper National Parks in Canada (if Hudson Bay is part of the Atlantic Ocean), it does mark the boundary of three of the largest watersheds in North America.
The rest area has a picnic area, flush toilets, and vending machines. Fittingly, it was raining on the day we stopped in early August 2017.
