The Cascades - Yosemite National Park

We continued our March 2018 trip to California with a visit to Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park. We entered the park at the Arch Rock Entrance along the Merced River east of El Portal. Our first stop was at a roadside waterfall named The Cascades. The parking area for viewing the waterfall is on the left about 2.9 miles north of the entrance station. Alternately, if heading south on the El Portal Road from the Big Oak Flat Road junction, the parking area is on the right in 1.7 miles.

Entrance to Yosemite National Park requires an entry fee of $30 per passenger vehicle for a 7-day pass. The price increases to $35 per vehicle on June 1, 2018. Any of the America the Beautiful passes may be used instead.
