The second viewing platform is at the Riffles, about 300 feet downstream from Brooks Falls. This platform wasn't nearly as crowded as the Falls Platform probably because the brown bears are much farther away. I much preferred the more open space at the Riffles Platform to the cheek-by-jowl congestion of the Falls Platform.

There is no entrance fee at Katmai National Park.
