Visitor Center and Exit Glacier - Kenai Fjords National Park

On our late August 2022 visit to Kenai Fjords National Park, we planned to explore the visitor center in Seward. When we arrived, we found our entry was barred by a ranger standing behind a table and a plastic shield. We had seen this type of setup before at other visitor centers across the country due to the pandemic, so it wasn't a complete surprise. The ranger was very apologetic about the situation and provided us with all the information we requested and also acted as the cashier for the limited bookstore items he had on display. The small display also contained a QR code for the 20-minute park film, Where Ice and Oceans Meet: Kenai Fjords National Park, available on YouTube.

Leaving Seward and the visitor center behind, we headed to the Exit Glacier area of the park. The wet and cool weather, along with signs warning of icefall dangers, meant that we enjoyed Exit Glacier from a distance.
