Bald River Falls and Baby Falls

We headed to Tellico Plains and Bald River Falls in early June 2014.  To reach the falls from Tellico Plains, drive 5.2 miles east on Tennessee 165, the Cherohala Skyway, to the intersection with River Road.  Turn right onto River Road and drive about 6.2 miles to reach the falls.  As I've mentioned before, the falls are visible to right side passengers from the bridge over the Bald River, but additional perspectives are just a few steps away.  A small, paved parking area is on the right just beyond the bridge.  Bald River Falls is about 90 feet high and is one of the largest in East Tennessee.

We drove another third of a mile up River Road to a small picnic area on the left side of the road to view Baby Falls on the Tellico River.  Baby Falls is about 15 feet high.
