The ¼ mile walk from the Thunderbird Lodge to Kolb Studio is usually among the most crowded sections of the Rim Trail in Grand Canyon National Park. We strolled along the wide, paved trail above the lip of the canyon on our March 2018 visit to the park.

As of June 1, 2018, entrance to Grand Canyon National Park requires an entry fee of $35 per passenger vehicle for a 7-day pass. Any of the America the Beautiful passes may be used instead.
