The Northwest Arctic Heritage Center in Kotzebue serves as the visitor center for Cape Krusenstern National Monument, Noatak National Preserve, and Kobuk Valley National Park. It also houses the park headquarters for these park units. The center was opened in December 2009. With 8,450 square feet of space for visitor services, it offers the usual restrooms, information desk, bookstore, museum, and a multipurpose room that doubles as a theater. In addition, it has a multipurpose room that functions as a theater for up to 90 people. There is a large binder at the information desk containing pictures of DVD cases for the dozens off movies available to view. We were the only visitors during our August 2022 Alaska trip, so we had our choice of videos to watch. We chose A Window to Your Arctic Parks, a 15-minute video produced by the park service that serves as an introduction to all three park units.
