Bicycle Trail - Townsend, Tennessee

During late February, 2013, we checked out the Townsend greenway.  This paved pathway is used by walkers, joggers and bikers.  We parked at the Visitors Center and rode east to the end of the trail.  Then we rode west to Old Tuckaleechee Road before returning east to the Visitors Center.  In total, we rode six miles.  There is an additional 1.6 miles of greenway west of where we turned around, but we stopped in time to visit Cades Cove just before dusk.

Most of the paved trail is well away from the highway

Bicyclists do NOT have the right-of-way
