Bison at Dusk on SD-87 - Wind Cave National Park

After taking a scenic loop drive in Custer State Park, we returned to Wind Cave National Park on South Dakota route 87. After only seeing a couple of bison in Custer State Park, we saw a herd of about fifty just after entering the national park. The late afternoon clouds provided an incredible fiery sunset above the hills as the bison grazed on the prairie below.

Entry to Wind Cave National Park is free. Cave tours require a fee of $10 to $30 per adult depending on the tour. Prices are reduced for children and seniors. Tickets for the current day tours are sold at the visitor center on a first come, first served basis.

The park website is https://www.nps.gov/wica.
