Built as a home for Leslie and Mabel Cheek in 1929, Cheekwood has been repurposed as a 55-acre botanical garden and art museum since 1960. Located on a hill southwest of Nashville, the estate is immediately north of Percy Warner Park.
To reach the estate from Nashville, take exit 1A from I-440 to west US 70S, West End Avenue. Drive 3.9 miles on US 70S as West End Avenue becomes Harding Pike. Turn left on Page Road and drive 1.1 miles. Turn right onto Forest Park Drive and drive 0.2 miles to the entrance and gatehouse on the right. Signs will direct you to the closest available parking lot.
The estate grounds are divided into several distinct areas. The first section we visited was the Bradford Robertson Color Garden. It was adorned with giant, brightly colored plastic snails and birds during our first visit in early September 2018.
Admission to Cheekwood is $22 for an adult. A one-year membership is $65. Other ticket options are available.
