Sugarlands Visitor Center - Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Built in 1960, the Sugarlands Visitor Center was renovated in 2013. We stopped to see the improvements during an April 2015 visit to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The visitor center houses the usual information desk, bookstore, museum and exhibit area as well as a theater. An excellent 20 minute video is shown in the theater on the hour and half-hour. Restrooms are housed in a building next door. The renovations were designed to improve traffic flow and seem to have met their goals.
