Shenandoah National Park preserves much of the Blue Ridge Mountains for over 100 miles in northern Virginia east of the Shenandoah River valley from Waynesboro north to Front Royal. Skyline Drive follows the crest of the mountains for 105 miles. Along this scenic route are approximately 64 overlooks that often provide views well beyond the borders of the park. Over a period of several days, we stopped at a few of the overlooks during our early May 2019 visit to the park.
